Back when I was a kid and we went on a holiday with the family, we usually would go to either France or Spain. Those countries were basically the go-to countries to go camping.

Pre Covid

Before the whole world went into lockdown, my friends and I went on some very long flights to visit far away destinations like Vietnam and Mexico.

Those trips were amazing! They offered completely different cultures to get lost in, and vastly different landscapes to explore.

But when Covid hit and we we're only able to travel to either Germany or Belgium — which are also delightful countries (particulary Germany) to visit — it got me thinking.

I haven't seen a thing of Europe really.

Like I said before, we usually only visited France and Spain when I was young and went to Italy once. So even while I'm from Europe, I hadn't really seen Europe at all.

So when I wandered into a comic book store in 2017. I asked for Venom, and instantly recognized the covers of the first three books! And that's where it all started. I completed that run and started collecting the storylines that interested me the most (mostly Venom). But the Watchmen storyline was on the top of my list. Getting Watchmen flown over from Australia was ehhh.. costly. And this opened the floodgates to more and bigger purchases. X-Men #266 was the first more expensive book I couldn't resist buying. Like Venom, I instantly recognized the cover. And what can I say, I'm a nostalgic guy! My first books are still some of my favorite books of my collection which has now grown to over a 1000 books…

I also have an Instagram page where I occasionally post a comic book cover with a look at the inside of the book as well. I'm trying to go through my collection this way and showcase some of the cooler books I own.

It's nice to finally have a space where I can display my (somewhat geeky) interests.
